Perfectionism: (n.) refusal to accept any standard short of perfection.

We live in a world today that try's to remind you over and over again that you're not enough.

But you know what, I thrive from that. I find peace in that. BUT so many people struggle with self-worth and this idea of perfection. What they forget to realize is....that's unattainable. No human can be perfect. "Perfection is an illusion."

Find comfort in that...& when you struggle to realize you can't reach that goal, just remember that no one can. Not your biggest role model, your favorite celebrity, or even the person sitting next to you.

We are perfectly IMPERFECT and I couldn't be more okay with that. Find your worth in the fact that you are perfectly made in the Lord's eyes. He sees NO FLAWS when he looks at you.

Genesis 1:27- "So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them."

I have never been one to struggle with my worth or the idea of being perfect, but this conversation has been brought up so many times by others recently that I thought I needed to write this reminder:

YOU ARE NOT PERFECT. YOU ARE NEVER GOING TO BE PERFECT. & THAT IS OKAY.

SOMEONE loves you as you are

SOMEONE is praying for their future spouse, and it's you

SOMEONE tells their friends how beautiful you are

SOMEONE notices you when you walk into a room

"It doesn't have to be perfect, to be powerful."

To me, the idea of being "perfect" is fulling embracing how obnoxiously loud my laugh is, how awkward I can be, how my sarcasm is WAY too much sometimes, and how I rest in the fact that no one else can be me.

I heard this quote (actually on a tiktok), but it said, "perfectionism doesn't make you feel perfect, it makes you feel inadequate." That is the best way I have ever heard this topic described, because why would you strive for something that is going to end up making you feel unworthy.

I'll end with reminding you that you will get so much more joy out of life, setting aside the thought of perfection and just embracing WHO you are and WHOSE you are.
